Target group:
Staff who need a better understanding of how to read and analyse financial statements in English, particularly as they relate to the real estate banking industry.
Course objectives:
To increase participants' confidence when reading and analysing accounting and financial statements in English. The programme will provide a clear and direct overview of the following components of financial statements: the balance sheet, the earnings statement (profit & loss account), the retained earnings statement, and the cash flow statement (statement of change in financial position).
To impart the concepts in analysing financial statements in accordance with US and UK GAAP that must be adhered to for listing on US and UK stock exchanges, respectively.
To expand participants' terminology in financial accounting.
To increase participants' awareness of recent developments in UK and US GAAP and to compare these with IAS and IFRS, the latter which are favoured by Continental European-based firms.
