The TOEFL Junior® consists of three sections. All questions are multiple choice.

TOEFL Junior® – Scoring & score interpretation

Total scores range from 600 to 900. The Score Report includes detailed results per skill and the corresponding CEFR level.

The Score Report is valid for 2 years and can be forwarded to schools, exchange programmes or other institutions.

Booking & procedure

  1. Reserve your date online: Select “TOEFL Junior®” in our booking portal.
  2. Specify your preferred date: Note the date in the comment field (Mon – Thu, 09:00 – 16:00) – we usually confirm within 24 hours.
  3. Registration deadline: At least 10 working days before your preferred date.
  4. Test day: Please arrive 30 minutes early with a valid photo ID and, if applicable, a parental consent form.
  5. Take the exam: Total duration approx. 1 hour 40 minutes, multiple choice.
  6. Results: Detailed Score Report with results per skill and CEFR mapping.

Important notes

  • Photo ID: National ID card, passport or school ID card required on test day.
  • Parental consent: A signed consent form from a parent or guardian is required for test takers under 18.
  • Punctuality: Please arrive 30 minutes before the exam start time.
  • Registration deadline: At least 10 working days before the preferred date.
  • Rescheduling/cancellation: ELOQUIA policies apply; observe deadlines and fees.

Who is the TOEFL Junior® for?
The TOEFL Junior® is designed for students aged 12–16 (secondary school). It is suitable for exchange programmes, bilingual school qualifications, applications to international schools or as proof of English proficiency.
What is the difference compared to the TOEFL iBT®?
The TOEFL Junior® is specifically designed for school-age students and tests Listening, Structure and Reading (multiple choice, A2–B2). The TOEFL iBT® is aimed at adults/university applicants and also tests Speaking and Writing at a higher level.
How long does the test take?
The TOEFL Junior® takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes and comprises 126 multiple-choice questions across three sections.
How long are the results valid?
The Score Report is valid for 2 years from the test date and can be forwarded to schools, exchange programmes or other institutions.
What ID does my child need on test day?
A valid photo ID (national ID card, passport or school ID card). For test takers under 18, a signed parental consent form is also required.
When do tests take place?
We offer individual dates Monday to Thursday, 09:00 – 16:00. Registration deadline: at least 10 working days before the preferred date.
