IELTS Academic vs. General Training – What’s the difference?
Both test versions assess Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The difference lies in the focus of Reading and Writing:

Test structure & duration
We offer the computer-based version of IELTS (Academic and General Training). Both versions consist of four parts:

Test day schedule
On test days we typically offer two sessions:
Morning session (AM)
- Written parts in the morning
- Speaking test in the afternoon
Afternoon session (PM)
- Written parts in the afternoon
- Speaking test in the morning
The Speaking test is a one-to-one interview with a certified examiner.
Important notes
- ID: A valid passport is required on test day (national ID cards are not accepted for IELTS).
- Punctuality: Late entry is not possible.
- Accommodations: Please contact us well in advance of registration.
- Rescheduling/cancellation: IELTS and ELOQUIA policies apply; observe deadlines/fees.

IELTS – Scoring & Band Scores
IELTS scores each skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) individually on a scale from 1.0 to 9.0. The Overall Band Score is the average of the four individual scores (rounded to the nearest half band). The scoring scale applies equally to Academic and General Training.
