What are the ISEB Common Pre-Tests?

The Common Pre-Tests are four online, adaptive, multiple-choice tests: English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. UK independent senior schools use them in admissions for Year 7 entry (often called "the 11+").

At Eloquia

On the test day

  • Your child takes the tests on a computer at our centre under supervision.
  • We provide pen and paper for rough work.
  • We give your child the test code on the day.
  • A child can sit the Pre-Tests only once per academic year (October to June).

How to book the Pre-Tests with us

1Register your child free of charge in the ISEB Guardian Portal, using the name on the birth certificate, and select "Eloquia GmbH, Frankfurt" as the invigilation centre.
2Give your child's Applicant ID to each senior school you are applying to. The school adds it to its ISEB portal.
3Ask the senior school for written confirmation that your child may sit the tests at Eloquia, and send it to us.
4Email us your child's name, the senior school(s) and their test deadline, and two or three preferred dates.
5We approve your child in our portal, schedule the tests and confirm the date.

Who can take the tests here?

Children applying for Year 7 entry to a UK independent senior school whose school has confirmed in writing that they may sit the tests at Eloquia.

What does it cost?

230 € per candidate at Eloquia for all four tests. Registration with ISEB is free for parents.

Can my child resit?

No. A child can sit the Pre-Tests only once per academic year (October to June).

What do we need to bring?

Nothing except knowing their date of birth. We give them the test code on the day.
