Test structure & duration
The TOEFL ITP® is taken on computer at our test centre and consists of three sections:

TOEFL ITP® – Scoring & score overview
Each section is scored individually on a scale of 31 to 68. The total score (310–677) is derived from the conversion of the three section scores.

Booking & procedure
- Reserve your date online: Select “TOEFL ITP®” in our booking portal.
- Specify your preferred date: Note your preferred date in the comment field (Mon – Thu, 09:00 – 16:00) – we usually confirm within 24 hours.
- Test day: Please arrive 30 minutes before the start with a valid ID.
- Take the exam: Total duration approx. 2 hours, multiple choice on computer.
- Results: Unofficial result immediately after the test; official result within a few days.
Important notes
- ID: A valid passport or national ID card is required on test day.
- Punctuality: Please arrive 30 minutes before the exam start time.
- Check recognition: The TOEFL ITP® is not universally accepted as equivalent to the TOEFL iBT®. Please verify this with your target institution in advance.
- No Speaking/Writing: The TOEFL ITP® tests only Listening, Structure and Reading (multiple choice only). For a test including Speaking and Writing, we recommend the TOEFL iBT®.
